About me
I was diagnosed with PTSD in 2017, and I used the following couple of years to work extremely hard at overcoming the more disruptive elements of that disorder. I am still healing and working constantly to ensure proper balance between mind and body, but I have never been in a more self assured place than I am today. I also have some physical limitations due to a complicated medical history. But I am ever positive about the body’s ability to adapt.
I have four children who are all grown and independent. I grew up as an army brat and was later an army wife. When I finally settled in this area, I was happy to put down roots. But I do miss experiencing new places and meeting new people and having those adventures.
My one goal is to try to make it to the Grand Canyon. I flew over it once on my way to California, and I was mesmerized.
I am a bit goofy, I’ve been told! Maybe a bit nerdy, with a nutty sense of humor. I find value in unique places. I truly enjoy connecting with people and try to let people know when they’re a light in that moment- to me or others. I don’t think we hear it often enough.
About my match
An ideal match?
I think foremost I’d wish for him to be kind and compassionate, with a wisdom born of life experiences if not innate empathy.
Also, it would be nice if he would share my curiosity and fascination for odd or random knowledge. If he doesn’t share my energy for such, then at least he wouldn’t be bothered too much when I get a bug for trying to figure things out.
Everyone wants someone who has a sense of humor, but I’d just love a man who thought I was funny. Or who laughed at the sheer joy or incredulity of life. There isn’t much that makes me glow faster or more completely than a man’s laughter.
